Gov. forces recapture “Izzan” city from separatists

Government forces took control of the city of Izzan on Monday morning after a failed attempt by the UAE-backed Shabwani elite militia.

A source in the National Army said the army is controlling the city of Izzan and chasing the attacking elements and inflicting heavy casualties on them.

The source stressed that those elements exploited the call of the local authority and the National Army to reconcile and to provide amnesty for militia members and to release the captured fighters and adding them to the national army.

The source pointed out that these elements had attacked the positions of the National Army in the city of Azan, and that the army forces dealt with them and re-secure the city.
