A significant military tension had been witnessed in the city of Zungbar, capital of Abyan province, south of Yemen, between the armed militias and the security forces of the legitimate government.
A local source said armed groups of the so-called “security belt” backed by the United Arab Emirates led by Abdul Latif al-Sayyid spread around the city of Zungbar and formed a cordon around the city in a sign of preparations for extending control of government facilities.
These movements are a repetition of similar movements carried out by the security belt forces in the archipelago of Socotra and followed in the province of Shabwa (southeast).
The source said that the security forces of the legitimate government have also deployed in anticipation of the suspicious movements of the “security belt” forces.
