Al-Yamani: agreement on Hodeidah includes withdrawal of Houthis from all ports and areas

The head of the government delegation in Sweden’s consultations, Khalid al-Yamani, said on Thursday that the agreement on the file Hodeidah includes the withdrawal of the Houthis from the ports of the province, and expressed regret that no progress acheived in the economic file.

This came at a press conference in Stockholm, at the conclusion of Yemeni consultations. Al-Yamani described the Hodeidah agreement as “very important,” adding that “it includes the withdrawal of the Houthis from the ports of Hodeidah, Saleef and Ras Issa, in the province.”

“A UN-supervised committee will be established to end the siege in Taiz, open safe passages there, end the blackmail of people,” alYamani said.

He regretted the lack of progress in the economic file during the consultations of Sweden, because of the intransigence of the Houthis.

He pointed out that the Houthis insist on controlling the financial resources in the areas under their authority, which led to the failure in economic file and salaries payment issue.
