The head of the so-called Southern Transitional Council, backed by the United Arab Emirates, announced on Saturday the military mobilization against the army in the Wadi Hadramout.
This came in a speech at a meeting of military leaders loyal to him in the interim capital of Aden, where he announced the general military mobilization to liberate the Hadramout valley from what he called terrorism and occupation as well as other areas in Shabwa and Abyan.
“These are southern regions that must be liberated,” he said.
He also announced the formation of a unified operations room for all military and security sectors and the southern resistance forces.
“The liberation we have achieved together is a fair initial result of the status quo, but the end result must be complete independence,” said Al-Zubaidi.
Al-Zubaidi called on UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith to actively involve the Transitional Council as a key negotiating partner by recognizing a southern negotiating delegation.
It is noteworthy that the first military zone in the Yemeni army controls the Wadi Hadramaut area in eastern Yemen, and this declaration, which Zubaidi launched is a new escalation against the legitimate government of Yemen.
