AlMaharah rejects presence of UAE-backed STC in governorate

The political components in Al-Mahra governorate (eastern Yemen) refused the presence of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council in the governorate.

In a statement, the organizing committee for the peaceful sit-in and the branches of political parties and organizations in the governorate expressed their condemnation and surprise at the allegations and fallacies about the presence of Sheikhs and figures from the governorate in meetings of the transitional during the past few days.

The statement pointed out that those who attended did not represent the sheikhs of AlMahara, and they only represented themselves, adding that they were very few who went out of consensus among the people of the province.

The statement rejected the calls made by the transitional council, which mainly aims to absent and distract the people of the south in sub-issues to achieve the goals and ambitions of the UAE occupation … adding that the transitional council’s neglect of these plans and plots is a disgrace.

It also said that what the Transitional Council has practiced since its declaration of “self-administration” revealed to the public opinion that there is no doubt that the council is a group of mercenaries who aim to implement the agendas of the Emirati occupation in the land of the south.

The political parties and the Mahara sit-in committee reaffirmed their support for the people of Socotra against what they are subjected to.
