The delegation of the Southern Transitional Council left Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, after negotiations with the legitimate government reached a dead end.
Press sources said that Saudi officials informed the transitional delegation to leave the city of Jeddah, stressing the Yemeni government’s rejection of all the initiatives of the solution presented by Saudi Arabia.
The sources pointed out that Saudi Arabia has submitted an initiative to grant the transitional independent administration in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, al-Dhali and part of Abyan. The government should be present “formally” in Aden, along with its administration of Shabwa, Mahra, Hadramout and part of Abyan, but the government rejected this initiative.
The Jeddah negotiations stalled more than a month after Saudi Arabia invited them.
The UAE-backed transitional council led a coup against the legitimate government in early August.
