Dozens of citizens staged a protest march in the southern city of Ataq on Saturday morning, denouncing the arrest of activists by armed groups loyal to the UAE.
The demonstrators raised banners condemning the arrest of activists by what they called “tools of the occupation of the UAE” and calls for the release of detainee Salem al-Rabizi, leader of the Southern Revolutionary Council, one of the factions of the southern movement.
The demonstrators expressed their rejection of the practices of the elite forces backed by the United Arab Emirates against the activists and leaders of the southern movement, which refused to be part of the UAE tools.
“Today, we are raising peaceful slogans to demand the release of our son Salem, who was arrested from his home without any right, and the peaceful escalation will be organized until his release”.
