The vice president of the so-called “Southern Transition Council”, Hani Ben-Brik, wrote a tweet that aroused public anger against him.
Ben Brik described himself as an Emirati citizen, saying that his country (UAE) had lost the match against Qatar.
This came in comment on a football match between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the semi-finals of the AFC cup, which ended with Qatar’s 4-0 win.
Ben Brik commented: “I did not watch the match between our national team (UAE) and the other team. I was engaged in field and military work. I had read the responses and found something useful for us, the joy of brotherhood in our loss. Residents of Taiz and Marib was happy despite the fact that the UAE is protecting them through the Patriot system.
