Yemen government denied on Saturday the reports of the withdrawal of houthi gunmen from the seaport of Hodeidah city (west of the country), as was stipulated in the UN-sponsored Sweden agreement.
Yemeni official (Saba) news agency quoted governmental source as saying: “During a meeting on Friday, the head of UN ceasefire monitoring team , General Patrick Kamert, handed over a memorandum to the parties requesting them to prepare visions next Tuesday about the procedures for a ceasefire in accordance with the Stockholm agreement”.
“During the meeting, the government side informed General Patrick Kamert, that they are not accept any unilateral actions and that any decision must be made in a formal manner through the committee by all its members.”
He stressed that the statements of the Houthis claimaing their redeployment from the port of Hodeidah is just a lie and attempts to “circumvent” on the Stockholm agreement of Hodeidah.
The source confirmed that government can not accept these violations, which will lead to the failure of the agreement.
