UAE-backed security forces on Wednesday arrested journalist Moadh al-Maqtari while he was on his way from Marib to Aden, the interim capital of Yemen.
In a statement, the Journalists Syndicate condemned the detention of Al-Maqtari and called to stop the “belt’s” violations against journalists.
The syndicate said that it had received a message from Al-Maqtari’s colleagues, saying that pro-UAE security point arrested al-Maqtari while he was traveling from Marib to Aden. Pointing out they prevented him from entering Aden and took his personal computer.
The syndicate condemned “these acts, which is being repeated regularly against journalists by the security belt forces in Aden”, and demanded for the immediate release of him.
