Yemen’s Foreign Minister strongly criticized the Washington Post newspaper after publishing an article for a Houthi leader Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, head of the so-called Supreme Revolutionary Committee of the Houthis.
Al-Yamani said in a tweet on Twitter:
“Who would have imagined seeing an article by Muhammad Ali al-Houthi in the Washington Post talking about peace: Iran’s terrorist agents have found a way for American media … The real peace can only be achieved through the disarming of al-Huthi militias and the restoration of legitimate authority in Yemen”.
The Washington Post published an article by Mohammed Ali al-Houthi under its famous section “Global Opinions” late on Friday.
The publication of the article surprised a wide range of Yemeni activists, as Al-Houthi was listed in the list of UN sanctions since the beginning of this year, after the killing of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
In his article, Muhammad al-Houthi tried to present himself as a man of peace, despite being one of the criminals wanted for justice, and this is what the Houthi group and its leaders have been doing since the beginning of their movements.
