Houthi court sentences two citizen to death penalty

A Houthi court sentenced two people to death for communicating with the Saudi-led Arab alliance.
According to the «Saba» version Houthi, which reported the news late on Monday evening, «the Court of Criminal Trial headed by Judge Mohammed Mufleh, ruled in its first hearing that Yahya Hani Mohammed Thabet Al-Ariki is guilty of the charges against and approved the death penalty».

The court said that it “relied on the facts of the verdict to the physical evidence provided by the criminal prosecution and official reports about the accused to communicate with the state of Saudi Arabia and joining to fight in the ranks of the so-called Islamic state, and mercenaries in the provinces of Aden and al-Bayda.”

At the second hearing, the court sentenced Ali ‘Abd al-Ilah Ali al-Hashedi to death after he was convicted of “joining the forces of the coalition, providing them with information and documents and disclosing the secrets of defense.”

After the sentence was pronounced, the Eritrean accused sought to appeal his sentence in accordance with Yemeni law.
