The so-called Southern Transitional Council, orderd the electricity worker’s union in the interim capital of Aden, to shut off the electricity from districts of Aden, starting from Sunday.
According to informed sources, “the Council” assigned large amount of money to the electricity workers’ unions monthly, to disrupt the electricity networks and power lines. And to take steps that escalate the population of Aden, with the aim of forcing them to go to the streets in protests and acts of sabotage as a response to the interruption of electricity, and then holding the legitimate government the responsibility of the electricity failure.
In a related subject, local sources confirmed to “Aden al-Ghad” that the unions of electricity workers will begin next Sunday, the second phase of the upward strike approved by the Executive Office of electricity workers and union committees in stations and regions. Pointing out that a meeting was held yesterday morning at the Ministry of Electricity in the interim capital of Aden, including the Minister of Electricity (Al-Khader Ashal), the directors of all regions and stations and members of the Executive Bureau of the Electricity Unions and the administrative body of the Association of Housing. In the framework of the strike program upward implemented by the Aden Electricity Unions to demand the restoration of its lands .
The meeting held discussed the implementation of the strike program in the first phase, including the lifting of the red badges, and after deeply discussions by the attendees, the meeting approved next Sunday the starting of the “cutting-off the electricity” program.
In this regard, it was approved to cut off power from the government facilities that contributed in the looting of the association lands, and not to return the current until the workers land is returned.
The cutting off of economic facilities will continue if the government remains silent about the union demands. In the final phase of the escalation, electricity will be cut off permanently, if this silence continues, according to the Transitional Council’s directs to the electricity unions.
