Local sources in the governorate of Abyan confirmed that clashes erupted today, Saturday, 7-7-2020, between the legitimate government forces and the militia of the so-called Southern Transitional Council supported by the UAE.
The sources pointed out that the clashes erupted in the Sheikh Salem area, indicating that the passenger’s movement between Abyan and Shabwa had stopped.
Since last August, the STC has controlled Aden and recently managed to occupy Socotra Island in the Indian Ocean, while the legitimate government is trying to reach the city of Zunjubar, to expel the transitional fighters from all locations in Abyan.
