Al-Barakani rejects a proposal to issue a statement of condemnation against the UAE

Informed sources in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, revealed that verbal quarrels took place between Vice President, Lieutenant-General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, and Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, head of Yemen parliament after President Hadi met with government members, his advisers, and the head of the parliament.

The sources said that Al-Barakani rejected a request by Vice President Al-Ahmar to issue a statement condemning the UAE against its occupation of Socotra through its militias in the south.

The sources indicated that Albarakani refused the Vice-President’s interference in the functions and powers of the Council, which prompted the former to accuse the latter of working for the UAE and implementing its agenda in Yemen.

The sources said that Al-Barakani threatened to submit his resignation if Al-Ahmar refuses to back down from the charge against him.
