Private sources revealed that an agreement was reached on Saturday between Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khaled bin Salman, contains a set of points proposed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and approved by President Hadi.
The sources explained to “Aden News” that the agreement was reached on the following points:
1- Stopping the military solution in Abyan.
2- Appointing a governor and security director for Aden, canceling the self-administration announced by the transitional council, and returning the money taken from the port.
3- Appointing a prime minister.
4- Within a month, the political components are consulted to determine the members of the government.
5- During the same period, the Saudi side will normalize the situation in Abyan.
The sources indicated that it was also agreed to remove the forces and their equipment from Aden. Stressing that the only guarantor of this clause is Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman.
It was also agreed that the Saudi side would restore situation in Socotra as it was before the rebellion.
Experts and politicians said that this agreement is a circumvention of the Riyadh agreement, which provides the military side over the political side, and meets the desire of the STC and the Emirates.
Observers played down the effectiveness of the Saudi guarantee, noting that Saudis had guaranteed the Riyadh agreement but were unable to implement it.
