UAE leads new military rebellion against legitimate authorities in Socotra

The 3rd Battalion of the 1st (Naval) Brigade on the island of Socotra Archipelago announced today, Thursday, the rebellion against the Yemeni legitimacy and raised the separatist flags.

A local source said that “Nasser Qais”, the acting commander of the brigade, had created military points on the Hadibu – Airport road, where the brigade’s leadership is located, after the revolt of the third battalion.
He pointed out that the rebel brigades had previously announced their loyalty to the UAE and were close to the Transitional council, pointing to the signs of a new rebellion in the “Tanks” and “Nujed” battalions.
The source warned of a plan being implemented with the complicity of some leaders to dismantle the first (naval) brigade, which is considered the most equipped brigade.
The Coast Guard battalion announced at the beginning of this month a rebellion against legitimate authorities before Saudi mediation was able to contain the rebellion.
Socotra Governor Ramzi Mahrous – who opposes the Emirati role in the island – left abroad last month, on a medical trip, according to his media office.

From time to time, the allies of the Emirates in Socotra are carrying out demonstrations against the local authority in Socotra and attempts to armed rebellion.
