Security director in Socotra: we will end the UAE-backed tampering in the island

The security forces in Socotra revealed a decision to end the insurgency of the UAE and end the control of its militias over installations on the island.

The security director of Socotra province, Colonel Fayez Al-Shathi, said that the security committee will take a decision to end the control of the special forces over the official installations on the island.

Al-Shathi added that “there are deterrent measures to stop tampering with the security of the province”.

He pointed out that the repetition of the disobedience the government’s decisions by security leaders is due to the failure of the higher-level bodies to deal with these actions decisively.

Al-Shathi revealed that “the pro-UAE transitional council supports the rebellion of the commander of the Special Forces in the province, Colonel Hussein Shaif, after he rejected his dismissal decision.”

Al-Shathi added that a number of members of the Special Forces, individuals and officers, receive salaries from the Transitional Council ( soldier receives 1,200 Saudi riyals and officer receives 1,500 SAR ).

A government decision issued a few days ago appointed Major Salem Saeed Mater as commander of the Special Forces in the Governorate of Socotra, in place of Colonel Hussein Shaif, but the latter refused the decision.
